El Arca de Mozart presents 'Músicas peregrinas: un paso Santo y otro, no tanto' (Pilgrim Music: One Holy Step and One Not So Much), a theatrical concert tracing the history and culture of pilgrimage through music and stage performance. The repertoire blends sacred and secular pieces from every era — from medieval codices to baroque, classical and contemporary works, plus Asturian and Galician folk music — played live by six musicians alternating piano, violin, viola, cello, rabel, lute, bagpipe and drum.
Two actors from the Mar Rojo Teatro company weave in an original script about the roads, motivations and social context of historical travellers, and the audience gets a programme inspired by the medieval pilgrims' game of goose. It's a show for all audiences, part of the European Day of the Camino de Santiago in Asturias.
It takes place on Sunday 20 September at 7pm at the Casino de Llanes, organised by the Casa Municipal de Cultura.
