The Teatro Jovellanos presents Malquerida, Mónica Regueiro and Producciones[OFF]'s take on Jacinto Benavente's classic. The story opens at the summer estate of Esteban and Raimunda, where the engagement of Acacia, Esteban's stepdaughter, to Faustino is being celebrated.

The celebration turns to tragedy when the groom is murdered that very night, and suspicion falls on Raimunda's nephew, Acacia's former suitor. As the village begins to hum a song that points elsewhere, hidden desires and family rivalries surface without mercy. Raimunda, determined to get to the bottom of it, won't rest until she finds a truth that could burn down everything she has built.

A rural drama of crossed passions and secrets that still hits just as hard today. Catch it on Saturday 31 October at 20:00 at the Teatro Jovellanos in Gijón.
