Teatro Jovellanos welcomes Ron Lalá on 21 August at 8:30pm with La Desconquista, a burlesque, musical comedy in verse inspired by the chronicles of the Discovery of the Americas. In the late 16th century, three castaways row adrift towards the New World: captain Hernán Galán chasing glory, sailor Fulano chasing gold, and friar Pío chasing souls for the faith. Amid mishaps at sea and on unknown shores, they discover that nobody is quite who they claim to be… and perhaps something about themselves too. It all comes with Ron Lalá's signature style: five actor-musicians, Golden Age-style verse theatre, live music and a relentless pace of laughs.
