Fiestas virgen de la soledad en pescadores

The fishing neighbourhood of Pescadores celebrates its festival in honour of the Virgen de la Soledad, patron saint of seafarers, from 18 to 20 September 2026. On the main day, Sunday, the image of the Soledad is carried on shoulders from the neighbourhood's community centre chapel in a procession that walks all the way to the El Musel fish market; there, at the Rendiello docks fish auction hall, decked out in seafaring style, a solemn mass is held, after which the patron saint is taken out to sea escorted by boats. Alongside the religious acts, the programme includes the days typical of a neighbourhood festival: music, dances and community gatherings. One of the most heartfelt events on Gijón's festive calendar, given its direct link to the city's fishing tradition.
