Fiestas de san pedrín de la cueva
📍 Cueva y ermita de San Pedrín, parroquia de Narzana, Sariego · View on map
Between 15 and 18 August, the cave and hermitage of San Pedrín, in the parish of Narzana (Sariego), host one of the most popular festivals of the Asturian summer, officially declared of Tourist Interest by the Principality. Its trademark is the blend of devotion, tradition and sport set against a striking natural backdrop. The most moving moment arrives on Sunday with the 'Baxá del santu': the patron saint's image is carried in procession, accompanied by the Llariegu bagpipe band, into the cave itself, where a Mass in Asturian is celebrated by the Coro Santiaguín de Langreo choir. The programme mixes religious rites with popular fun: vermouth sessions, a classic car gathering and the first Classic Car Rally on Saturday, a horse-riding ribbon race and choral festival on Sunday, an international motocross event on Monday, and a closing parade of floats with traditional bread, orchestra music and fireworks on Tuesday. There are also children's games and popular card and board game contests for all ages.
