The El Coto neighbourhood celebrates its festival in honour of Saint Nicholas from 11 to 13 September 2026, one of the events that, together with those of Moreda and Pescadores, extends Gijón's festive spirit well into September in a friendly rivalry between neighbourhoods. The programme opens with a speech given by local shopkeepers and the awarding of the «Orgullo de Barrio» (Neighbourhood Pride) prize, followed by the days typical of a local festival: music, neighbourly gatherings and activities for all ages. An endearing way to stretch out the Gijón summer, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.
