La Pontona is the big autumn festival in Pola de Laviana: five days, from Thursday 8 to Monday 12 October, designed for the whole family and turning one of the council's historic neighbourhoods into the leisure hub of the Nalón valley.

The programme opens with bingo-style Cartones Loos and a play at the Casa de la Cultura; it continues with the popular omelette and apple tart contest, a gathering of accordion bands, Sunday's giant paella, the vermouth session and three big dances with orchestras and DJs.
