The village of El Fresno, in Tineo, celebrates its Fiestas de La Magdalena with a classic day of festivities: a morning ribbon race on horseback and a solemn mass followed by a procession, then a midday vermouth session with live music from Héctor.

The evening brings the traditional bollo hand-out — with a voucher from Casa Herminia or Casa Ricardo, including tuna empanada, casadiella pastry and a drink — and a long open-air dance with Iván París and the duo Héctor y Jose to close out the day.
