Gijón-born pianist Martín García García, winner of the 2021 Cleveland International Piano Competition and third prize at that year's Chopin Competition in Warsaw, returns to his home city as part of the "Jesús González Alonso" Gijón International Piano Festival. Trained at Madrid's Reina Sofía School, he has performed with orchestras including the Tokyo Philharmonic and Spain's National Orchestra, under conductors such as Mikhail Pletnev and Vasily Petrenko. The recital takes place at Teatro Jovellanos, part of a 2025/2026 season that also takes him to Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Mexico, while he prepares his new album "Chopin and His Echo".
