Teatro. La Regenta, Kamante Teatro
📍 Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto · View on map
To mark 140 years since the publication of La Regenta, Spain's Ministry of Culture commissioned Kamante Teatro to create a dramatised reading which, after a warm reception, grew into this full stage piece. Two servants from Oviedo gossip about the impact of Clarín's last novel while cleaning, and their chat drags them into reliving Vetusta and unwittingly becoming part of the story. Between humour and object theatre, they constantly break the fourth wall and talk to the audience, revealing through their eyes the contradictions of the literary city.
