Desfile tradicional del día d’asturies en xixón
📍 Gijon · View on map
The traditional Asturias Day parade crosses the city centre from Plaza Mayor to Cerro Santa Catalina, led by around twenty groups: bagpipe bands such as Villa de Xixón, Jovellanos, Noega, Saxum and Garulla, alongside folk troupes like El Xiringüelu, El Xolgoriu, Marabayu and Trebeyu. It kicks off the Jira picnic celebration held afterwards on the hill, so families and onlookers often follow the procession from Plaza Mayor to join the festivities together.
