The Palacio Valdés Theatre in Avilés hosts «Jekyll & Hyde, the Musical», Theatre Properties' production based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel «The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde», part of the EscenAvilés series. The show blends psychological drama and suspense with a score that has triumphed on Broadway and the West End, set against staging that recreates 19th-century Victorian London.

The story follows Dr Henry Jekyll, a scientist convinced that good and evil coexist within every person, who sets out to separate them by experimenting on himself. The result is Edward Hyde, a violent personality that begins acting on its own and terrorising the city, while Jekyll's own life falls apart: his engagement to Emma is thrown into doubt, and his bond with Lucy, a vulnerable woman, mirrors the conflict consuming him from within.

Starring Abel Fernando in the lead role, alongside Silvia Villaú, Ana Saavedra, Carlos Salgado and Néstor Gutiérrez, the Avilés performance takes place on 1 October at 20:00, with tickets from 40 to 55 euros.
