The Teatro Jovellanos hosts El entusiasmo, the latest work by writer-director Pablo Remón, produced by the Centro Dramático Nacional and Teatro Kamikaze. Starring Francesco Carril, Natalia Hernández, Raúl Prieto and Marina Salas, the play follows Olivia and Toni, a couple in their mid-forties going through, alongside their children, a personal crisis that pushes them to try to get their enthusiasm for life back, whatever it takes.

Built like a set of nested fictions, and blending humour with irony, the play asks how far we can really change who we are, or whether we're doomed to repeat our past choices. Some characters switch careers, others get divorced, one drops everything to finally write the novel they always wanted to write: an emotional journey through midlife crisis and what possesses us once enthusiasm no longer does.

A bittersweet comedy about couples, parenthood and the passing of time, on Sunday 8 November at 19:00 at the Teatro Jovellanos in Gijón.
