Descenso Internacional del Sella

📍 Arriondas - Ribadesella

The Descenso Internacional del Sella is the great sporting festival of the Asturian summer: on 8 August 2026, more than a thousand canoeists, professionals and amateurs alike, set off together down the Sella river in Arriondas to cover the 17 kilometres to Ribadesella. Declared of International Tourist Interest, the race is also a huge popular celebration, with a massive parade before the start and a communal picnic afterwards at Campos de Ova. Anyone wanting to try the descent themselves can book it with local adventure tourism companies from €35 per person.
