Descenso Folklórico del Nalón

📍 Pola de Laviana

Every August the Nalón River becomes the stage for a rather unusual naval battle: dozens of homemade boats, built from wood, polystyrene and plenty of imagination, sail through Pola de Laviana in front of thousands of spectators. This is the 57th edition of a festival declared of National Tourist Interest, a true summer classic in Asturias.

On Friday 21st there's a parade and presentation of the boats through the town's streets; on Saturday 22nd, after the morning boat display at Parque Cerrado Alimerka, the parade sets off at 3:00 pm from Calle Libertad. Meanwhile, from Thursday to Sunday, the Regodón Llaviana fills Parque de los Príncipes with live music.
