Thirty years after its major growth spurt in Langreo, the Derrame Rock festival returns to the town with two days of free concerts and activities at the newly refurbished Talleres del Conde. The comeback was announced last August at FIDMA, alongside promoter Enrique Granda and the local Youth and Finance department.
The festival was born in Grado in 1996 as a modest project, but it was in Langreo, especially from the 2000s onwards, that it saw its biggest growth, camping included. It now returns as one of the season's key cultural events, combining concerts with an exhibition on its own history, a music-themed market and food stalls.
El Drogas headlines Saturday's bill, and the programme also includes Derrame Rock Kids, a strand designed to introduce the festival's music and spirit to children and families.
