Cosimo and the Hot Coals play in Gijón as part of the 'Rockin' Gijón Weekender', a weekend devoted to 1920s and '30s swing and jazz. The Italian band is led by trumpeter and singer Cosimo Pignataro, backed by his Hot Coals (piano, guitar and banjo, double bass, clarinet and drums). They're known for blending New Orleans hot jazz and swing with Italian songwriting elegance, and have gone viral on social media, earning praise from artists like Michael Bublé. They've toured the UK, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Tunisia, and in 2024 released the single 'Urla la Campagna', reviewed on BBC radio by Jamie Cullum.
