Concierto de Maestro Espada en Gijón

Maestro Espada, the project of Murcian brothers Álex and Víctor Hernández, plays a free concert on Gijón's Plaza Mayor. They take jotas, parrandas, malagueñas and boleros from Murcia's rural tradition and rebuild them with synthesizers, samplers and experimental production by Raül Refree. After an acclaimed debut — winners of La Mar de Músicas' 2025 breakthrough award — and dates at the likes of the Montreux Jazz Festival, they bring Gijón's summer agenda a live show that is rawer and more physical than the record, with voices, cane castanets and electronics laid bare. The organising group suggests meeting beforehand at La Botica Indiana.
