The 46th Gamonéu Cheese Contest, a Regional Tourist Interest Festival, takes place in Benia de Onís over the weekend of 24 and 25 October at the covered court. On Sunday 25 the proclamation is given by rancher and cheesemaker Jose Antonio Sánchez Campillo. It is the big date for the blue cheese of the Picos de Europa, with producers, tastings and a rural festival atmosphere.
