The Galician duo Caamaño & Ameixeiras, made up of Sabela Caamaño on chromatic accordion and Antía Ameixeiras on violin and vocals, comes to Teatro Jovellanos as part of the Encaja2 series with their traditional roots music and dance. Formed in 2018, the project has built an intense national and international career, taking tradition as a starting point to create a language of its own, with lively arrangements that keep the popular essence while adding contemporary touches. Their debut album, 'Aire!' (2021), won the Martín Códax da Música award and first prize at Folkez Blai, among other recognitions, and in 2023 they released their second album, produced by Diego Galaz with contributions from artists such as Sílvia Pérez Cruz and Fetén Fetén. An ideal concert to discover Galician roots music through a contemporary lens.
