Backyard baltasara 2026

La Pasera square, in Mieres, is the starting point for the Backyard Baltasara, an endurance race in "backyard" format organised by Pinineo Sport Club. Runners tackle a single 6.7-kilometre urban and rural loop, with around 130 metres of elevation gain, repeated lap after lap until only one finisher remains standing.
Each lap has a fixed maximum time and starts are synchronised by an acoustic signal, in a format that tests both physical endurance and the mental management of fatigue. The route, marked out and published on Wikiloc, combines tracks, paths and urban stretches around the Mieres area.
Organisers provide volunteers at the start, finish and key points, plus liquid refreshments from the first lap and solid food from the sixth onwards. Although registration has already closed, the race remains an interesting one to watch, as participants push through lap after lap.
